ABOUT ASHAN FERNANDO

My name is Ashan Fernando, I will be a forceful advocate for my friends and neighbours in Scarborough-Guildwood-Rouge Park to bring results in Ottawa as your next Member of Parliament. I will fight to lower our taxes, axe the carbon tax and put more money in the pockets of working-class people. 

I have lived in this beautiful community for over 24 years and have the dedication and passion to deliver results for the common people. I love my community dearly and I am constantly involved in it.  

I have over 24+ years of experience in a range of industries, including customer service, hospitality, office administration, telecommunications and retail. I was the City of Toronto Councillor Candidate for Ward 25, Scarborough-Rouge Park Toronto Municipal Election 2022. I was the interim Co-Chair of the Port Union Community Winterfest 2023. I am actively involved in the Self-Advocacy Council at Surrey Place and I am a strong and passionate advocate for individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.

I currently hold an Honours Diploma in Hotel Management from George Brown College and received the Culture Award and Customer Service Excellence Award from Rogers Communications and the MVP Awards from Fido Canada and Best Buy Canada. 

I currently serve as a Board of Director at Surrey Place. 

I will fight for us all to have more freedoms and make things in Canada, once again affordable.
